SDN is a powerful engine of network innovation ? as long as it's fueled by open standards

Yanick Pouffary.pngI?ve been hearing that innovators in the auto industry are on the cusp of self-driving cars. It?s an exciting thought, and it makes me wonder: How far are we from ?self-driving? networks? SDN can move network innovation in that direction by creating a unified point of control. Open standards and interoperability are crucial, and any vendor that misses that point (as Cisco does, for example) also misses the vision for the tremendous things that SDN can accomplish.
