HP IMC 7.1: Revolutionizing Network Reporting

by Jessica Dinh, HP Networking Marketing

Network reports are integral for IT administrators to stay in control of their networks by monitoring data and displaying it in easy-to-read formats. This data includes bandwidth usage, network uptime, performance metrics, and more. Reports offer historical accounts of past network statistics as well as current activities that need to be brought to attention.

The HP and Aruba vision?it has the Magic touch

Jack Johnson once sang, ?it?s better when we?re together?, and at HP and Aruba we believe it?s true! Most recently, Gartner has positioned the combined companies, HP and Aruba, furthest to the right in completeness of vision in the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant for the Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure (2015)?and this marks the 4th straight year.

Networks can be extremely complex

The HP Networking Advanced Technology Group is researching datacenter network complexity. Our goal is to get some indication of the typical ?complexity? of the networks being built to solve their business challenges at any scale ? 10 servers to 100,000. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CK8R2M5

HP and VMware accelerate SDDC through mainstream adoption of network virtualization

By John Gray, Data Center Marketing Lead, HP Networking

This week at VMworld 2015, HP and VMware are announcing an extension of the server OEM relationship that builds on their 15-year strategic partnership to deliver solutions that accelerate the adoption of software-defined data center through (NSX) network virtualization helping customers deploy applications faster, simplify and automate their data center network fabric and improve security.

HP IMC 7.1: Revolutionizing network management with resource management

By Jessica Dinh, HP Networking Marketing

No matter the scale or scope of your business, network management requires complete resource awareness, control, and compliance of shared resources on the network. With so many virtual devices these days, an optimally operating network requires strong yet flexible management tools.

The Max Planck Institute gravitates to HP for its data center network

by Mary Gabra, Senior Global Manager, Customer Excellence

Mary Gabra.jpgOK listen up all you physics fans and heavy-duty research folks. This week I?m blogging about an organization in a field that couldn?t get much more fascinating ? the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute). It?s the largest research institute in the world specializing in general relativity and beyond. Founded in 1995 by the Max Planck Society, the Institute pursues research into the fundamental laws of gravitation.

Your people are embracing mobility ? but is your workplace?

It?s astounding to realize how globally ubiquitous mobile phones have become in the space of just three decades. There are 7.3 billion people on the planet today, and 6 billion of them have a mobile phone, as Simon Hughes, VP for Enterprise Mobility and Networking with HPTS, points out in the video below. As mobility becomes ever more massively pervasive, can IT keep up?

Watch the video to learn:

  • where you can find the ROI for a mobility solution
  • how HP halved its own telecom costs
  • how HP can help you quickly understand your current state and your desired future state, and then create the roadmap that will get you there.

HP SDN Ecosystem expands with addition of ISV partners working on ODL

By Sudha Krishnamurthy, Technical SDN Alliances Manager, HP Networking

In May 2014, when HP announced its platinum membership, our partners and customers clearly recognized HP?s vision to collaborate with SDN community to provide open, standards-based and interoperable solutions. Standing by our vision, we are now releasing an experimental version of the OpenDaylight controller (based on Lithium) on the HP SDN App Store. At ODL Summit in Santa Clara, CA, HP will be hosting demos in booth 116 on July 28 & 29.

Network disaggregation: Where does SDN fit in?

By Ahmad Zamer, Sr. Global Product Marketing Manager, HP Networking

Ahmed Zamer.pngIn a recent blog, I wrote about the shift to disaggregation in today?s web-scale data centers. I explained that disaggregation separates the switch into different ?layers,? including the operating system, so that you can change out a layer without affecting the others. This allows you to exploit multiple purchasing sources rather than having to buy everything from a single vendor.

Thinking in terms of layers of a disaggregated switch stack may bring to mind Software-defined Networking (SDN), which decouples the network control plane (software) in the switch from the forwarding plane ? the physical infrastructure that forwards data to its destination. But while disaggregation and SDN certainly can support each other, they?re two different things.
