Introducing Pensa Networks: a virtual lab-as-a-service for rapid service deployment

By Ujwal Setlur, CEO of Pensa Networks

As I write this post to introduce readers of HP Networking blog to what we are doing at Pensa Networks, I?m thinking back about the reasons that led us to embark on the journey that we?re on today.

With the adoption of cloud and virtualized workloads increasing rapidly, the heretofore staid networking industry is undergoing a revolution rather than an evolution. A plethora of seemingly complex virtualization technologies have emerged just in the last couple of years, and more acronyms such as SDN, NFV, VNF, VXLAN, etc. have been added to an already rich alphabet-soup. In fact, the entire process of building and deploying a network has been turned on its head. These new technologies are designed to address the demand for agility and cost efficiency, but often leave IT professionals at a loss for where to start.

HP SDN and Avni Software Defined Cloud: Your Cloud Playground

by Rohini Kasturi, Founder/CEO, Avni.io

The digital economy is here.

Digital services are an imperative for more and more organizations. And what they need - more than anything else - is to be there when they are needed by end users and customers. Regardless of how many customers and regardless of where they are.

But digital services are nothing more than a collection of apps. And we know how to run apps, right?!

Before the advent of cloud computing, the way to make sure apps were there, and ready to serve when needed, could be summarized in two words: over-provision! You had to guess what the worst case could be and configure your infrastructure for it, and hope you were not too far off. Capacity planning was a mandatory discipline for any non-trivial app.

Dynamically map, monitor, and interact with your network like never before

by Stace Hipperson, CEO & Founder of Real Status Hyperglance

Agile IT has created management complexity.

The Internet of things, hybrid cloud, and software-defined networking (SDN) all provide agility for IT services and management, but these platforms also create complex physical and virtual relationships across an IT estate that are increasingly difficult to comprehend.  Understanding relationships is necessary for effective management of IT resources.   Without understanding, troubleshooting and optimization can take an excessive amount of time, open up vulnerabilities, cause communications to break down, systems to fail, costs to soar, and of course users to be unhappy about their IT services not functioning as they should.

The dawn of the digital workplace: 3 questions for Michael Dickman

The impact of mobile and collaborative technologies will go a lot deeper than many of us have imagined. We may be looking at the end of the cubicle-intensive workplace, for one thing. I caught up with Michael Dickman, VP of Global Product Line Management for HP Campus Networking, to get his take on the new digital workplace.

CLI jockey no more! How the shift to the customer-centric network will change your work

By Rob Haviland, Senior Manager, Global Technical Marketing, HP Networking

ROB HEADSHOT DIRECTORY WORKS.JPGHere?s an interesting thought: With the rise of Software-defined Networking, single-point management of wired/wireless networks, and services-focused networking, for many of us the days of being a CLI jockey may be nearing an end.
